Did MasterCard partner with Mercuryo?

Probably Not
Crypto enthusiasts beware!  If you've noticed the recent influx of articles claiming that MasterCard has partnered with Mercuryo, understand that this is nothing more than a campaign to use MasterCard's name to promote Mercuryo's services. So take a moment to review more information about Mercuryo before using their services, because Mercuryo is still Mercuryo (and not MasterCard).

The release of articles and videos about MasterCard partnering with Mercuryo appears to be an attempt to market Mercuryo's services to cryptocurrency enthusiasts. There is no doubt that Mercuryo just paid a grip to have these articles posted all over the Internet and since Mercuryo is seeking attention, we are pleased to assist. But we'll shed a little light on everything so you'll be aware of information that is not presented in these articles.
First and foremost, let's look into Mercuryo's reputation based on the Trustpilot reviews of their users. Consider the numerous 1-star reviews from the Mercuryo Exchange and from the Mercuryo Wallet. When we consider this, we notice a recurring word that is associated with Mercuryo, and that is SCAM. So be warned. With so many negative reviews, new prospects may want to do more research before using Mercuryo's services. And while Mercuryo has failed to address or remedy the stream of problems reported by their existing user base, they continue to promote their services to new and unsuspecting users.
Hence Mercuryo's latest campaign to bombard the Internet with news that a reputable brand like MasterCard has actually partnered with them. Many of the articles (including one from cointelegraph.com) claim that the senior vice president of MasterCard's crypto and fintech enablement (Christian Rau) has stated "Through our collaboration with Mercuryo, we're eliminating the traditional barriers between blockchain and conventional payments, providing consumers who want to spend their digital assets with an easy, reliable, and secure way to do so, anywhere Mastercard is accepted.". See screenshot below should they remove the article after discovering the misinformation. And while this proposed statement from Christian Ray may sound believable, no such statements or collaborations have been confirmed by any official MasterCard sources at the time of this publication. You will only find this information in the hundred or so articles that have been posted within the past 24 hours; articles that were undoubtedly sourced by or from Mercuryo.

And while Mercuryo's Spend card may very well be a MasterCard, claims of MasterCard partnering with Mercuryo may be a bit of a stretch. A better statement would be Mercuryo is now offering a MasterCard debit card. And if we as cryptocurrency enthusiasts seek anonymity in our transactions, does this card actually support the anonymity that we seek? Certainly not if Mercuryo is using MasterCard, a company that prefers to partner with central banks and support the development of CBDCs.
But even if Mercuryo has secured an agreement to issue MasterCard debit cards, their track record of poor service remains online for everyone to see. And while we cannot verify if you will get scammed through Mercuryo's services or not, we can certainly direct your attention to the testimonies of others that feel that they have been scammed by Mercuryo. So we'd recommend proceeding with caution or not a all.
