Bitcoin 2025 Targets Lightning Record in Vegas

Post by Chawla Solutions »

The Bitcoin 2025 conference, set for May 27–29 at the Venetian Conference Center in Las Vegas, is gearing up to break a Guinness World Record for the most Bitcoin transactions conducted via the Lightning Network in an eight-hour span. Organized by BTC Inc., the event aims to emphasize Bitcoin’s role as a real-world payment system.

Key Highlights:
  • 4,000 Bolt Cards: Each attendee receives a Lightning-enabled “Bolt Card”, allowing tap-to-pay purchases at the venue. Designs honor major Bitcoin figures like Satoshi Nakamoto, Michael Saylor, Senator Cynthia Lummis, and Jack Dorsey.
  • Bitcoin Magazine Store: Attendees can buy merchandise—wallets, apparel, books, and art—using Bitcoin with 21% discounts, symbolizing Bitcoin’s 21 million supply cap.
  • Massive Turnout Expected: Over 30,000 attendees, 300 exhibitors, and 500 speakers are anticipated, making it one of the largest gatherings in Bitcoin’s history.
According to Didier Lewis, CFO of BTC Inc., the goal is clear: “Bitcoin 2025 is an opportunity for the community to demonstrate Bitcoin’s real-world functionality as a medium of exchange.”
By fully integrating the Lightning Network, Bitcoin 2025 aims to showcase the protocol’s potential for scalable, instant payments—reaffirming Bitcoin’s position not just as “digital gold,” but as a usable currency.
