Pay Crypto in Cannes & Earn EURI

Post by umair »

There’s been an exciting update in the world of real-world crypto adoption. Binance Pay has just launched a new initiative allowing users to spend stablecoins and other cryptocurrencies at over 80 merchants across the French Riviera. This includes popular destinations like Cannes, Nice, Antibes, and even Monaco. From luxury hotels and restaurants to beach clubs, boutiques, and gyms, users can now pay with crypto directly using their Binance Pay app.

What makes this rollout even more interesting is how smooth and instant the payment process is. No gas fees, no waiting times—transactions are settled immediately, and merchants receive the equivalent in euros. This makes crypto spending not just possible but practical for both tourists and local businesses. It’s a great example of how Web3 tools can blend into real-life experiences without adding friction.

To encourage users to try the service, Binance is also offering a limited-time promotion. If you make a purchase of at least 20 euros using Binance Pay before July 6, you’ll receive a bonus in EURI, a euro-backed stablecoin. While the bonus pool is capped, it’s a smart incentive to get more people testing the system while visiting the region.

This move aligns with the local push in Cannes for more blockchain adoption in commerce and tourism. The city’s leadership is reportedly urging businesses to embrace crypto payment methods as part of future-ready strategies.

Has anyone here used Binance Pay during travel? Do you see this kind of crypto integration taking off in other high-traffic tourist areas? And for those of you who hold stablecoins, does getting rewarded for spending them in the real world make you more likely to use them?

Really curious to hear your thoughts on whether this marks a turning point in crypto usability.
