How to Choose a Real Play-to-Earn Game

Post by Chawla Solutions »

With hundreds of play-to-earn (P2E) games launching monthly, the space is crowded with hype, promises, and sadly—unfinished projects. If you want to avoid getting burned by unsustainable token models or rug-pulls, here’s how to pick a legit P2E game that lasts.

Start with the basics: is there a playable demo or beta? If a game has no working version and only token sales or flashy trailers, that’s a red flag. A real project should offer some form of early access gameplay or development footage.

Next, evaluate the game itself. Is it fun without the rewards? If the gameplay feels boring and is only designed to extract value, it likely won’t retain players once the rewards slow down.

Tokenomics matter. Solid projects limit inflation, include burn mechanisms, and don’t rely on constant user growth to pay out early adopters. Avoid games with endless emissions or vague utility.
Watch the entry cost too. If the NFTs or in-game assets are expensive upfront, you're likely entering a volatile market where returns are far from guaranteed.
Finally, research the team, roadmap, and update history. Consistent progress and communication are far better signals than high APR promises.

TL;DR: Play-to-earn should be play first, earn second. Focus on games with utility, strong design, and transparent development—not just token hype.
