Why are people so clueless about Bitcoin?

Post by mistaPhi »

Real story...

I offered a tip to a waitress and asked if she wanted cash or Bitcoin. She said cash, so I left a cash tip. But we had enough time to chat so I briefly explained the benefits of Bitcoin to her, onboarded her to our Bitcoin wallets, and gave her another $10 in BTC. The next time I visited the restaurant, I asked her about her experience and guess what. She transferred the Bitcoin to a Robinhood wallet and converted it to dollars! LOL Either she didn't get it or she was so desperate that she really needed to cash out 10 bonz.

I guess this is why many people are called sheeple... Always following the crowd and too lazy to think or comprehend logic - but very willing to work go get dressed, drive to work, wait tables, wash dishes, and return home tired and miserable. LOL

And let's not forget about the defi degens! They'd be better off moving to Vegas or spending their paychecks on lottery tickets. 99% of them would be better off gambling than investing in penny coins or defi projects.

But perhaps it's not that people are clueless... It may be that they are just lazy. Check this out... I'll show you here how to get FREE MONEY and my bet is that few will actually take advantage of it (or do something similar)

Consider these wise words...

If you never learn how to make your money work for you, you will always work for your money.

Am I wrong for this post? LOL

Here is my perception:
- We are still very early and bitcoin as a common currency still isn't here yet
- People don't understand the level of deceit we are born into and how blockchain has potential to change this, and generally just work hard for an honest days pay
- The long term benefit is hard to be attractive when people are struggling now
These things I believe will continue to change at an increasing rapid pace :icon_cool:

Interesting thoughts and I'm inclined to agree. May have something to do with age/maturity as well. I find that most of the people that resonate with my content are males in their 40s & 50s. And it's interesting that I too fall in that ball bark. LOL

Guess we've grown enough and seen enough to comprehend logic and think critically. :icon_e_smile:

I'm not surprised about the waitress . I'm in my 60s and tried talking to people in their 20s about defi bitcoin web3 etc and it's like talking to a brick wall they know nothing. Only interested in the latest music trends and selfies. Im very happy with my life now but if I was in my 20s and 30s i would be looking forwards to a golden future .I'll continue to mention bitcoin etc to people who I meet but maybe to an older more mature audience

Hey!!! Kudos to you for sharing info about crypto with people. Discovering what works and sharing it with others can really change lives for the better.

And thx for sharing your age range... I'll have to update my target audience to males from 40-70 :icon_razz:

I am currently schooling my kids in all things bitcoin. I have my own business and looking to put all my companies profits into bitcoin and try to start taking bitcoin payments and pay my children when they work with me in Bitcoin. I’m currently looking at doing BTC backed loans so I can HODL my bitcoin. And I’m in that same age bracket of 40 something

Smart move Vma... You and the fam will be much better off with Bitcoin than with holding a fiat currency (USD, EUR, GBP, etc) that continuously depreciates in value. With that said, you'll also want to make preparations for a potentially long crypto winter. Should Bitcoin reach a new All Time High this year, the price of Bitcoin will likely encounter a long, slow, and steady drop (like for the next 2.5 to 3 years). Per Bitcoin's history, this is what has happened with each previous cycle.

This current cycle may very well be different due to increased adoption and acquisition by nations & institutional investors, so you'll want to devise some short and long term strategies that you will be comfortable with. Things can get really exciting for Bitcoiners when the price is going up, but the real money is made when buying the dips and holding your bag (or a portion of you bag) for a long period of time.

But big ups to you for being a Bitcoin advocate, venturing to accept Bitcoin as payment, and sharing it with your kids. Bitcoin can be life changing for those that understand it and invest strategically. :icon_cool:
