ETH and XRP Sentiment Tells Two Stories

Market sentiment often moves before price, and right now Ethereum and XRP are sending very different signals. According to Santiment data, XRP is experiencing one of its most bullish sentiment weeks of 2025, while Ethereum is moving in the opposite psychological direction — quietly cooling off after months of hype.

XRP continues to trade around the key $2 level, with bulls and bears actively battling for control. What stands out is the strength of social sentiment. XRP ranked among the top assets by bullish commentary this year, showing strong community conviction despite sideways price action. Historically, this type of sentiment stability during consolidation often precedes volatility — either a breakout driven by renewed demand or a shakeout that tests conviction.

Ethereum, on the other hand, has lost roughly 35% of its value over the past 12 weeks. However, this drawdown is not being met with panic. During the summer, ETH sentiment reached extremely overheated levels, driven by ETF narratives and ecosystem hype. That FOMO has now faded. Retail enthusiasm has cooled, which actually reduces downside pressure in the short term.

From a market structure perspective, muted sentiment can be constructive. When expectations reset and speculative excess is flushed out, assets are better positioned for sustainable moves rather than emotional spikes.

In short, XRP is fueled by optimism and attention, while Ethereum is entering a quieter phase of recalibration. For traders and long-term investors alike, understanding sentiment cycles is just as important as watching price — because psychology often sets the stage for what comes next.
